The man had no recent travel history, either within or outside of Taiwan, and spent most of his time at home. Taiwan has confirmed its first death related to the Hanta virus this year. The victim was a man in his 70s living in Taipei. The man died on January 13 of this year, about eight days after the onset of viral symptoms. Bleeding may appear three to six days after infection, in addition to the presence of protein in the urine, low blood pressure, or a decrease in urine output.
